Spring Family Session | Austin & Round Rock Photographer
This spring family session was one of those evenings that felt easy from the very beginning. We met up at a local park in Round Rock just before sunset, and the weather could not have been more perfect for letting their two little girls run, play, and just be themselves.
The Best Photos Happen When You're Just Being Yourselves
One of the first things I tell families when we start photographing is that it's okay to stop thinking about the camera.
In fact, most of our time together is spent pretending it isn't there. I’m there to prompt you & give you something to do, but then I back up and take photos. You get to just be yourselves.
Instead of focusing on perfectly posed smiles, I just want you to have a good time. It’s that simple. That's where the real magic happens. Walking hand in hand, spinning in circles, tossing your babe in the air, stealing kisses from your sister, or snuggling up with Mom. Those are the moments that will document of this season of life, so you can look back on it (and that’s kinnnnda the whole point!)
This family embraced that completely. Their oldest loved being silly with her parents, and little sister was full of smiles and curiosity. The result was a gallery that felt so damn genuine and full of personality.
Watching this family together reminded me so much of my own days with little ones.
If you're currently in the stage of diapers, wake windows, snacks, bedtime battles, and trying to remember what day it is, I see you. It can feel like you're constantly moving from one task to the next. The days blur together, even though everyone keeps telling you how fast it goes.
It’s like you can tell it’s going fast but day-to-day feels so damn. slow.
BUT!! one day you look up and life looks completely different. The diaper bag disappears. School schedules take over. Your conversations shift from nap times to classroom parties and playground friendships.
That's why a spring family session like this matters so SO much in my book.
Not because everything is perfectly put together, but because it gives you a way to freeze a season that won't last forever.
As a mom, I still find myself scrolling back through old photos of my kids when they were tiny. I will always miss that version of them, even though I’m loving every new version I meet each year.
Photographs give us a way to revisit moments that would otherwise get hazy with time.
This session was full of the little things I know this family will want to remember years from now. Tiny hands reaching for Mom and Dad. Belly laughs. Sister cuddles. Practice steps. The way everyone fit together in this chapter of life.
And that's exactly why I love what I do as an Austin & Round Rock family photographer.
If you've been thinking about scheduling a spring family session, consider this your reminder that there doesn't need to be a perfect time. Your kids are growing right now, and this season is already worth remembering.
