Fall Photos at Old Settlers Park | Round Family Rock Photographer

IMO family photos with toddlers are all about letting your little one explore, play, and just be themselves. This family session at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock, Texas, was the perfect example of that! Yes, we got the “smiling at the camera” poses too. But we also got so many playful, REAL LIFE type of photos of the three of them together.

This was my first Fall session of the season, and it was also one of this family's first photo sessions as a family of three. They had gotten married a couple of years earlier and welcomed their little guy into the world! Now it was time to capture this new season together. I was so honored/excited/happy they picked me as their Round Rock family photographer. It’s never lost on me what an honor that is to document the most special parts of your life.

This was a relaxed, toddler-led family session

We met during golden hour, when the light was warm and dreamy and the tall trees were looking especially magical. I brought the blanket, toddler music on my speaker, and snacks. (And let me tell you, the snacks were a BIG hit! haha)

We spent some time getting comfortable in front of the camera and following their little guy around as he explored. There's no pressure for toddlers to sit still, smile on command, or do something they're not feeling.

As a child-led photographer, I want your kids to have room to be themselves. We can get beautiful photos while playing games, snuggling with Mom and Dad, exploring our surroundings, and following their lead.

And with 15 years of experience photographing families, I'm pretty quick at catching those moments when your kiddo does look up and give me that sweet little smile!

Why I Love Photographing Families at Old Settlers Park

This is one of my favorite locations for family photos in Round Rock. While parts of the park have been under construction lately, there are still plenty of beautiful spots to explore. I'm very familiar with the area and send detailed parking instructions so you know exactly where to go for some of my favorite tucked-away-secret photo spots.

Here's what makes this location such a great choice for family photos:

  • Beautiful golden hour light: The tall, mature trees create a gorgeous backdrop, especially in the evening.

  • Easy access: There are plenty of lovely spots that don't require a long hike with little ones.

  • Dinner nearby: Make an evening of it with family-friendly options like Chick-fil-A, Torchy's Tacos, Blue Corn Harvest, Masfajitas, or Usta Kababgy (a favorite of mine!!).

Capturing the Little Years Before They Fly By

This family was such a joy to photograph. There's something so special about watching a toddler discover the world and turn into their own little person. As a mom myself, I know how quickly this season passes. My own kids are beyond those early toddler years now, which makes capturing these memories even more meaningful to me.

Whether we're exploring Old Settlers Park or another favorite spot around Round Rock, I’m on a mission to make family photos feel easy while preserving the little moments you'll want to remember.
