Spring Session at Old Settlers Park | Round Rock Photographer
Most people think of annual family photos as a Fall affair. And listen, I love a good Fall session! But we get some DANG good weather here in Texas during the Spring, too. And if you're hoping to update your family photos before the chaos of summer kicks in, Spring is such a good time to do it.
This family met me in May for a spring session at Old Settlers Park, near Lakeview Pavilion. We had the prettiest evening with cool Spring weather, and it was the perfect setting for some sweet family photos.
A little extra meaning behind this family session
This family had recently welcomed a new baby and was adjusting to life with three kids. But this session was extra special because Dad was deploying just a few days later.
We knew we wanted to create beautiful photos they could print and hang in their home, giving the kids a way to feel surrounded by Dad while he was away. But I also wanted to give them something else: a little bubble of time together.
Time to play at the park. Time to laugh, snuggle the new baby, and enjoy being together without worrying about what needed to happen next.
Sometimes, the best part of a family photo session isn't just the photos themselves. It's having someone else take the lead for a little while so you can simply ENJOY your family. (That’s what I try to provide my families as a Round Rock family photographer 🥹)
Why I love Spring family photos at Old Settlers Park
Old Settlers Park is one of my favorite locations for family photos in Round Rock. There are so many beautiful spots to explore, and the area near Lakeview Pavilion gives us plenty of room for the kids to play and the whole family to relax.
A few reasons I love booking Spring sessions here:
Comfortable weather: Spring evenings can be absolutely beautiful before the Texas summer heat arrives.
Room to play: We can walk around, explore, and let the kids be kids while capturing natural family moments.
The pond is a great backdrop! There are often ducks & fun birds flying around. And it’s beautiful in your photos!
More than just a photo session
I’ve made it my mission to make family photos fun again. They don’t have to feel like a chore. I've booked family photo sessions for my own family where the photographer barely even SPOKE to us. (It was not fun). And I've also had sessions where the photographer made the whole outing into something we remembered and enjoyed.
I strive to be the latter.
I'll give you prompts, bring snacks for the kids, and help guide the experience so you're not left wondering what to do. You get to focus on your people while I take care of documenting the moments for your future self.
Whether you're celebrating a new baby, preparing for a big family transition, or simply ready for your annual photos, a spring session at Old Settlers Park can be a beautiful way to document this season of life.
