Bestie Poolside Session | Austin Portrait Photographer

This summer I opened just four spots for pool shoots, and Mercedes and Jaye were quick to grab a bestie poolside session. 🎉 Mercedes is a past client, and actually told me she missed out when I offered these a couple of years ago. She promised herself she wouldn’t let it happen again! And I’m so glad she didn’t because honestly? This session was a blast. I think we just laughed the entire time.

We started out with an easy vibe: think crop tops, sunglasses, and hanging by the pool surrounded by all the greenery. Vibes = check.

It felt relaxed, playful, and perfectly set the tone before they hopped into the water for their bestie poolside session.

Once they changed into swimsuits, I loved how they coordinated. Matching black bottoms and Jaye’s cheetah print bikini top. They admitted it felt a little nerve-wracking at first to be in swimsuits in front of a camera, but you’d never know it looking at these photos. Within minutes, they were laughing, trading inside jokes, and totally in their element. They spotted each other’s flyaway hair and made sure no one had lipstick on their teeth. We love a girlhood moment.

And as soon as they saw the images, all nerves went out the window. They even posted them right away on Instagram (which I take as a high compliment as an Austin portrait photographer haha)

I’m glad their bestie poolside session was everything they were hoping for!

Pool sessions are one of my favorite things to offer every year. I know they are a little bit niche, but they’re fun & refreshing. Different from a typical shoot, but in the heat… a fun way to still get photos. Listen, I love them so much I even booked one for myself last year in Minneapolis with Mary Castillo Photography, because I just love these Summer vibes.
