Cozy In-Home Newborn Photos | Austin Family Photographer
This in-home newborn session was such a treat to photograph. Taylor reached out before baby N arrived to talk through the style she was looking for: something cozy, simple, and true to their everyday life. Yes please, sign me up!
So when their sweet boy (and first son!) made his arrival this summer, we were able to schedule quickly and capture those fleeting, oh-so-quiet newborn days.
Inside their bright and airy living room, everyone was relaxed and barefoot, which just leaned into the comfort of a home shoot. Taylor wore a soft white knit set that felt effortlessly classic. Big sisters twirled around in matching cream smocked jumpsuits, looking like they had been born to be photographed together. Baby N was wrapped in neutral swaddles or curled up in a ribbed beige sleeper, always nestled in someone’s arms. Dad kept it casual in a sage green tee and light shorts, the perfect complement to their neutral, earthy palette. Basically? They nailed it on the outfit coordination. ✅
The girls were absolutely smitten with their new little brother. One minute, they were spinning around the room or giggling on the couch; the next, they’d pause everything just to run over, plant a kiss on his forehead, and wrap him up in a hug. Those spontaneous, love-soaked moments are the ones you can’t pose, and they’re the ones that make me smile as an Austin family photographer.
We moved easily between playful chaos and sweet stillness: snuggling together on the couch, tickling toes, kissing cheeks, and letting baby N nap in the coziest spots. In their bedroom, we captured some quiet moments of Taylor holding her tiny boy close, breathing him in, and soaking up every newborn detail. The way his little fingers curled around hers, the peaceful way he drifted off... as a fellow mom, I know these are the moments that just go too fast.
They’re also a big reason why I love the in-home newborn photos… because it organically captures the moments you want to remember… in the environment you were in.
These sessions feel real. Your kids are in their own space, able to be themselves. You’re surrounded by the familiar. Like, the couch you pile onto for family movie nights, the rug your toddlers play on, the bedroom where you’ve rocked your babies. It all becomes part of the story.
This session was a perfect reminder that your house (or apartment!) is the backdrop for so many beautiful beginnings. And for this family of five, it was the place where two adoring sisters welcomed their little brother with open arms and endless kisses.
